a media-enhanced cooking performance.
the local/food concept tries to unify the following topics for projects and experiments:
interchange of locations, ingredients and preparations | fastfood chains | slowfood reformations | locally available food | traditional and progressive preparations
| environments for experiments | temporalities for in-taking | medial transformations | preservation of cooking rituals and ingredients | trace-routes for food exports
| fusion cooking | global foodproduction | trade and polarisation | economical shiftings of value in food | cooking as the only authentic art form |

the cooking performances can be seen as the centerpiece of the media works. in these 'temporary spaces' the audience and the art are in a state of communication, interaction
and exchange. these productions and events provide the content for the 'mangez le monde' document.
this book is placed above the media concept, the most interesting materials like pictures, words and recipes will be part it.
the local/food events can be split in 3 different forms of performances:
- audiovisual supported cooking
target: areas/countries with a valuable background in food culture (e.g. austria, italy, france,...).
simple, traditional meals are prepared in order to guarantee these recipes will not be forgotten in the times of fast-food-culture.
cooking abroad will involve 'local cooking heroes', i.e. no celebrities, but people dedicated to traditional cuisine.
in every case the audience will be preparing the food - supervised by cntrcpy™.
during these cooking sessions cntrcpy™ generates audiovisual content from the food-creation process. this is done in real time by use of electronic devices.
- audiovisual supported 'workshop'
target: areas/countries with uninteresting/non-existant food culture (e.g. usa, england, germany,...).
the intention is not to 'teach' cooking, but to focus on 'conscious' cooking, i.e. avoiding common mistakes and showing that excellent meals are always prepared on a
simple basis...
cntrcpy™ is interested in exchange of recipes and food culture - not in blaming one countries' eating habits.
in every case the audience will be preparing the food - supervised by cntrcpy™.
during these cooking sessions cntrcpy™ generates audiovisual content from the food-creation process. this is done in real time by use of electronic devices.
- irritations
various actions targeting fast-food-chains and similar business-oriented institutions that undermine/negatively influence traditional eating habits.
media reactions are of highest priority.
these actions should be sponsored by the victims of commercialisation/mass-production, e.g. producers/vendors of high-quality food, owners of small coffee-shops, ...
this stands as a symbol of awareness: not everybody tolerates the ongoing tendencies.
